Purpose

The Friends of Pleasure Island State Parks is a 501(c)(3) organization that supports both parks located on Pleasure Island, Carolina Beach State Park and Fort Fisher State Recreation Area. It serves as a philanthropic and volunteer organization for the maintenance of programs, development of facilities, and promotion of recreational resources; to solicit, hold, and expend funds for such purposes; and to render assistance as requested by the North Carolina Divisions of Parks and Recreation. These purposes are exclusively nonprofit, charitable, educational, environmental, and recreational.

The Friends of Pleasure Island State Parks is a 501(c)(3) organization that promotes, advocates, and educates the public about the importance of recreation, history, ecology, and conservation of natural resources within Carolina Beach State Park and Fort Fisher State Recreation Area.
